Ara Ketibian is a well-known researcher, who specializes in the study of international newspaper archives, in particular the American press. He deals mostly with topics of interest to historians and genocide scholars, in particular the subject of the Genocide of the Christian minorities (Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians), perpetrated by the Ottoman and later the Turkish nationalist authorities.

His style of presenting archival material is distinctive, as it is not limited to a simple enumeration of news items, but includes eyewitness accounts, editorial pieces, political essays, readers' opinions, as well as relevant diplomatic and state correspondence (published in the newspapers of that period) and which have direct relevance to the subject matter. This particular approach provides the reader with a comprehensive overview of the topic under consideration.
